When you have an ability to do something without knowing how you do it, that
is a genius quality.
My friend Bryan Westwood can play any wind musical instrument such as the
flute, clarinet, saxophone and sing the words and lead the band. He turned down
a Juilliard scholarship and never enhanced his talent...while others of us had
to practice to play a fraction as well as Bryan.
Another friend Tim Whittley started playing drums and guitar at an early age
of 7, then added saxophone, piano, then banjo and writing music.....for which he
went to college. Today he is writing advertising jingles for a living in
Toronto.
His younger brother Matt is a snow boarder, and likes to make videos. He has
been making videos for surfers in the islands ( Barbados ), and skiers in the
winter ( Whistler, Blue Mountain) and makes a good living doing what he loves. He
is now in his early twenties and has people backing him on his own cable
program.
If you can do something almost on automatic pilot, without knowing how you do
it, this is a genius.
Each of us has at least one innate genius skill and you probably know what
that is ......if you don't there are several ways to find out.
We will examine the ways to learn what your "bliss" is ( doing what you are
good at) and how many you have......most of us have more than one.
Several people attending my workshops wantede to know how many areas of
genius they had, so we devised tests to check it out.
When these are packaged together, you present a dynamite bundle of skills
that can easily be exploited to make you an abundance of wealth, or at least a
good living, doing something that comes naturally and that you love. There is
zero competition when you follow your bliss because you know and love what you
are doing . Joseph Campbell authored many books around the theme " Follow your
Bliss."
Let's go there now and learn how to discover your bliss / genius.
