I Wouldn't Eat That If I Were You:

15 Unhealthy Restaurant Foods That You Should  Never Eat Again

© Ralph Jean-Paul

Health foods are gaining popularity but nothing is as convenient, affordable, or tastier than the salted, high fat foods we eat every day.  We all know that the foods we eat help determine our weight and energy level.  It is no secret that foods that are high in fat, cholesterol, and sodium are the main causes of many chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cancer.  I enjoy eating healthy and exercising but I do from time to time indulge in restaurant foods that I know aren’t good for me.

I decided to do some research on some of the most popular foods from some of America’s favorite restaurants.  After discovering just how bad these foods are for the human body, I’ve sworn off forever certain items.  This is a list of some foods that I’ll never eat again.  If you value your health, you should consider saying goodbye to them as well.

KFC Chicken and Biscuit Bowel-How they fit this much fat and calories into a little bowl I’ll never know.  This is one of the items that I personally haven’t indulged in but during my research found it to be on almost every unhealthy fast food list there is.  Colonel Sander’s little bowl packs 44g fat 880 calories.

Quiznos Prime Rib Cheessteak- For some time the nutrition facts on some of Quizno’s food items where a secret and judging from the fat content of their Prime Rib Cheesesteak Sandwich I see why they tried to hide it.  Calorie Count has the sandwich loaded with 116g of fat (25 of those saturated) and 1770 calories.
Chipotle Chicken Burrito- I almost shed a tear when I first tasted the delicious Chipotle Chicken Burrito.  I almost shed two tears when I found out that it contained 44g of fat and 1092 calories.  This McDonald’s own franchise had many people flocking to it because of their naturally raised chicken and beef.  Now people are realizing that natural doesn’t always equal healthy.

Burger King Triple Whopper w/ cheeses-Any burger with the word “triple” in it means trouble.  Packing in 64g of fat and 260mg of cholesterol, this burger is a heart attack waiting to happen.

Domino’s cheesy Bread with Garlic- With a total of 120g of fat for 8 slices, this appetizer should be skipped on pizza night.  The dipping sauce alone has 7 grams of fat.

Krispy Kreme Glazed-Kreme Filled Doughnuts-I was one of the many people who had no problem making a U-turn if I saw the red “hot doughnuts”  sign glowing in the window.  Doughnuts in general are unhealthy and the Glazed-Kreme Filled is no exception.  One doughnut contains 340 calories and 20g of fat.  That’s 31% of your daily recommended value.

Panera Italian Combo Sandwich-There is a little discrepancy over the fat content and calories per serving on this sandwich from the sources that I found.  The Daily Plate has the sandwich packing 54g of fat and 1050 calories for 17oz and The Panera Bread website has it containing 50g of fat and 1070 calories for 17.75 oz size serving.  Either way, any sandwich that has anywhere near that much fat and calories should be avoided.

Uno Chicago Grille Deep dish Cheese and Tomato Individual- Loaded with cheese and thick tomato sauce, this Chicago style personal pizza has a whopping 104g of fat and 1710 calories

Cheese Cake Factory Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake-One of the most popular cheesecakes available, one slice of this rich dessert will hand you 57g of fat and 503 calories.

PF Chang’s Pork Lo Mien-PF Chang does have some menu entrées that are low in fat.  This is just not one of them.  These noodles have a gigantic amount of carbs and 127g of fat and over 1800 calories.

McDonalds Large Fries-Before McDonald started getting blamed for obesity in America, their fries were cooked in oil containing animal fat.  Even though they’ve switched to cooking with vegetable oil, their fries continually rank high among the unhealthiest fast food item.  Large fires have 29 grams of fat 610 calories.

Starbucks Venti Mocha Frappuccino Blended Coffee- I’m not a big coffee drinker and never have been.  I do, on rare occasions, sip on a Mocha Frappuccino while sitting at my local Starbucks.  Thanks to the 500 calories and 17 grams of fat it contains, I now have a reason to go back to not drinking coffee.

Olive Garden Stuffed Chicken Marsala –With 2 pounds of chicken, sour cream and at least 3 different kinds of cheese, this meal is a definite no-no on my dining list. The Stuffed Chicken Marsala has 86.4g fat, 1315 calories and 2550mg sodium.
Chili’s Awesome Blossom- This deep fried onion appetizer is usually shared between two or more people.  A single blossom contains 203g of fat, 2710 calories, 6360mg of sodium, and 194g carbs.  Even if you split the Awesome Blossom among four people, you would still be ingesting over 25g of fat.  Outback Steakhouse's Blooming Onion is pretty much the same thing except the Aussie version contains 216g of fat.

McDonald's 5-pc Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips-Don’t let the fact that they’re just chicken strips fool you.  These babies pack 40g of fat along with 400 calories.  They also have 1680mg of sodium; the highest of any single item on McDonald’s vast menu.
